Vote on the Board of Directors

Dear Slow Food Friends,

We are grateful for your continuing support of Slow Food USA and your designation of the Twin Cities chapter as your primary affiliation. Over the past couple of years, a small band of board members has been working to keep a presence of this vital international movement alive in our region. The pandemic sidelined a number of plans, but not our commitment to the chapter.

As part of our next phase of development, we are thrilled to announce that Cedar Schimke will roll off the board and serve as our Chapter Administrator. In this paid, part-time role, Cedar will help us leverage the commitment and energies of our board and volunteers to move our work forward to foster equitable access to good, clean, fair food.

You can see some of what we've been trying to do on our newly redesigned web site. Now, we are moving to expand our board with three new members and asking for your participation in a meeting to vote on the slate.

Please join us for a virtual meeting of the local chapter on Thursday, March 4 from 5:30-6:30 pm on Zoom (RSVP on Eventbrite Here)

We will provide a financial report and a summary of our work to move forward with our mission to foster equitable access to good, clean, fair food. This includes our efforts to become more fully aligned with the vital work being led by the national office under the leadership of Executive Director, Anna Mulé, and her team, especially that focused equity, inclusion and justice. Finally, we will conduct a vote on the slate of board members and officers.

The slate includes:

  • Adam Zuehlke

  • Ann Kirby McGill

  • April Rog

  • Doug Engen

  • Regina Peters

  • Vidya Subramani

We are excited by what this new group of board members will bring to our work, and for the direction our small, but passionate chapter will achieve with their involvement. We hope you, too, will choose to become more deeply involved and I hope we will see you on Thursday, March 4 at 5:30pm on Zoom. Please direct any questions or comments to Cedar Schimke at twincitiesmn@slowfoodusa.org or me at akirbymcgill@gmail.com.

Always,

Ann Kirby McGill
Slow Food MN Board Chair
