To truly live in relationship with nature we must first realize we are “a part of” nature, not “apart from” nature. Only when we acknowledge and celebrate our relationship with the rest of the living world, will we be able to fully understand the generous gifts we receive from the Earth can only be sustained by giving our own gifts in return.
Support local food vendors and artisans throughout the Winter months at our Northeast Winter Market!
We will proudly feature music on vinyl by The Ring Toss Twins, prepared food by Chowgirls, local beer and Bloody Mary bar, kids activities, plus a great variety of over 35 local vendors. It will be a weekend destination with something to offer for all!

This event brings together the music, dance, language, foods, costume, and arts & craft traditions of several countries hailing from the Balkan region of Eastern Europe. Produced in partnership with Ethnic Dance Theatre.
A celebration of the various peoples of the Balkan region, this festival features traditional music and dance, craft-making stations, foods, and cultural booths. Come and learn about this culturally rich area of Eastern Europe.

We encourage farmers and food makers interested in learning more about sustainability to attend. Grants range from $1,000 to $7,000.

The MSHS, which runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., features Dr. David Montgomery (right), a soil scientist, MacArthur fellow and author of books such as “Growing a Revolution,” which makes the case for agriculture that is profitable and productive that cools the planet and restores life to the land.

This intimate event is geared towards candid discussion around our food systems. Who is doing work that inspires us? What are our greatest needs? What are the things we can do as individuals? Where is the greatest potential for impact through volunteerism? Where do we go next?
The Minnesota Chapter of Les Dames d’Escoffier is throwing the spotlight on Minnesota’s women chefs. Some of the Twin Cities’ most creative kitchens are led by women chefs. The taste-around lets you mingle and chat with the chefs as you sample a delicious array of small plates, wine tastings, craft cocktails/mocktails and sweets.
The International Institute’s annual Festival of Nations is the most diverse, oldest and longest running multicultural festival in the Midwest. Since 1932, its goal has been to inspire people to discover more about our world and embrace the rich cultural diversity in our community. Nearly 100 ethnic groups will come together for a unique, 4-day experience that celebrates cultural heritage through dancing, performances, exhibits, demonstrations and cuisine. The Festival is a department of the International Institute of Minnesota, whose mission is to “help New Americans achieve self-sufficiency and full membership in American life.”
